Cold Spray & Rolled Nickel-Copper Targets for Semiconductor, Battery, and Solar Industries
Nickel-copper (NiCu) binary alloy sputtering targets are versatile functional materials in the thin-film deposition industry, offering a unique combination of electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance. These targets are widely applied in semiconductor electronics, energy storage and power battery industries, solar photovoltaic industries, as well as decorative and functional coating industries.
NiCu binary alloys combine nickel's excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength with copper's superior electrical and thermal conductivity. This combination makes NiCu targets ideal for preparing conductive and corrosion-resistant thin films. In semiconductor-related devices, NiCu thin films can be used for exploratory applications in specific functional layers, subject to customer-specific process validation. In solar photovoltaics, they are applicable for the development of specific thin-film electrodes or conductive layers, subject to process validation. In energy storage and power battery industries, customized coating solutions are available based on specific customer process requirements. In decorative and functional coatings, NiCu alloys provide distinctive metallic finishes with wear and corrosion resistance.
UV Tech Material LTD. (UVTM), a national-level SRUI "Little Giant" enterprise established in 2003, has developed both cold spraying and rolling manufacturing processes for high-performance targets. The company's NiCu targets are available in rotary and planar specifications, with a Ni+Cu main component total content of ≥99.95%. Cold spraying operates at low temperatures, depositing powder materials in a solid state without melting, resulting in dense coatings with minimal oxidation. The rolling process produces targets with high density and uniform microstructure, catering to different sputtering equipment requirements.
As of August 2026, the company has obtained over 100 effective patents, including 73 invention patents and 34 utility model patents. Supported by its extensive patent portfolio and a 35,000+ square meter standardized production base, UVTM has achieved large-scale manufacturing capabilities for both cold spraying and rolling processes. The company's facilities include dedicated production lines capable of simultaneous mass production across multiple target material categories. All products undergo rigorous quality control and comply with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other management system standards. UVTM's products have entered overseas markets including Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the United States.
UVTM offers comprehensive technical support ranging from material customization and backplane bonding to large-area sputtering applications.
